DREAMS COME TRUE is… OK. I’m four albums in and still trying to figure them out. MILLIONS KISSES is up next and it left no impression whatsoever on me. I can’t even think of a song that stood out enough to come close to the 3 star rank. It’s like they’re not a bad group, because their songs are decent in so far all their albums I can put on an just have playing in the background; which isn’t all that terrible. Just a boring album, despite the vocals being pleasant… enough.

I’m still three albums in (well more because I listen to albums prior to reviewing them) and I still don’t really know how I feel about DREAMS COME TRUE. Honestly, I feel like I’m not old enough to like them as much as I want to and I’m almost 30! I do like Yoshida’s voice though, it’s very pleasant an she’s pretty versatile with it. WONDER 3 is their third album in I’m pretty indifferent toward it. I neither like or dislike it. It’s not a bad album but none of the songs stand out, the only one that really caught my attention was The Difference of Two People. The rest were fine, but bland in a sense. I had some hope with the first two tracks which despite the fair ratings aren’t half bad, but I mean the album just plays like nice background noise, which isn’t saying much really. This is an album I can play through without really skipping a track, yet still a forgettable listen.

So… when I reviewed their debut I remember thinking that I liked Yoshida’s voice and of how interesting their music was yet also thinking that it was pretty safe and bland. I suppose the same can be said about their sophomore album LOVE GOES ON… though, I think I enjoyed this album a little less than their debut. The titles to most of the songs are weird and ludicrously long; that wasn’t really the problem though, the problem was in how I couldn’t really get into any of the tracks on this album. Honestly, not one song stood out to menothing popped and I just found myself feeling bored a little. Yes, Yoshida’s voice is nice and she’s genuine, but it all just falls flat. I’m a little surprised really, especially with how creative and cute the track titles are. It’s OK an despite my feelings it’s pretty much an album you can listen to straight through, just as their debut is.

I’ve always been rather curious about DREAMS COME TRUE and a few years back I had listened to one of their recent at the time best album and really liked the lead singer– Yoshida’s, voice. It wasn’t until years later however (last year), that I decided to give their disco a try and so far I’m enjoying them. Dreams Come True is a pretty standard debut, but it’s also quite refreshing because they’re like a twist on Do As Infinity (even though they also have a sole female singer that does all the vocals; they debuted years before DAI did too). They are more versatile as well; their music changes, but for some reason DREAMS COME TRUE is more difficult to dissect because I haven’t liked them for years like Do As Infinity. I just started getting into them in 2016. So, when I say that this album is OK, that’s what I mean. It’s pretty safe, a bit on the bland side and it’s not an album I would go back in listen to (unless I’m reviewing it like now). However, there are some good tracks on here even if only one song really stood out to me (APPROACH). Yoshida’s voice is really nice though.
